This page indexes handouts for Stat 5421.
- Statistical Inference for the Binomial Distribution in PDF and the same in HTML and the Rmarkdown source file binom.Rmd.
- Statistical Inference for the Poisson Distribution in PDF and the same in HTML and the Rmarkdown source file poisson.Rmd.
- Fuzzy P-Values and Confidence Intervals in PDF also the LaTeX/Sweave source file (fuzzy.Rnw).
- Likelihood Inference in PDF also the LaTeX/Sweave source file (likelihood.Rnw).
- Simple Chi-Square Tests for Contingency Tables in PDF also the LaTeX/Sweave source file (multi-simple.Rnw).
- Likelihood Computation in PDF and the same in HTML and the Rmarkdown source file likelihood-compute.Rmd.
- Stat 3701 notes about Bayesian Inference in HTML (also PDF and the Rmd source file are available at the 3701 web site.
- Exponential Families of Distributions in PDF also the LaTeX/Sweave source file (expfam.Rnw).
- Proper Conjugate Priors for Exponential Families in PDF.
- some Stat 5102 notes about other link functions for Bernoulli regression (see also under computer examples).
- some more Stat 5102 notes about generalized linear models (the general concept).
- Graphical Models in PDF, also the LaTeX source file (graph.tex).
- Part II of Exponential Families of Distributions in PDF, also the LaTeX/Sweave source file (infinity.Rnw).
If you want to know how to make the PDF from the Rnw file, which is not necessary (if you just want the PDF, you can just download it), what one does (for example) is
R CMD Sweave fuzzy.Rnw pdflatex fuzzy.texon a computer that has both R and pdflatex installed. The second command must be repeated until the program stops saying
Rerun to get cross-references right.
If you only know how to invoke R and LaTeX via a GUI, then you may have to hunt around in menus or Google to find instructions for your computer. Similarly for figuring out how to install R and LaTeX.
