- (posted Dec 14). The intermediate steps in the posted solution of homework problem 12-1 were wrong, although the final answer was correct. Now fixed.
- (posted Dec 14). The intermediate steps in the posted solution of homework problem 8-11 were wrong, although the final answer was correct. Now fixed.
- (posted Dec 13). In section 11.5 (Variance Stabilizing Transformation) of the algorithms handout, the asymptotic variance in the first displayed equation should be v(θ) not v(θ)2.
- (posted Nov 21). On the algorithms handout, which was handed out in class November 21, the section heading of Section~7.3 should be Iterated Variance Formula instead of what it said, which was ``Iterated Expectation Formula'' (a cut-and-paste error).
- (posted Nov 19). Hint for homework problem 10-5 changed.
- (posted Nov 2). Slide 23, deck 5 fixed. h = c ⋅ f should be f = c ⋅ h.
- (posted Oct 18). Homework problem 6-3. Ordinary font f in first line should be math italic f.
- (posted Oct 18). Slide 134, deck 3 fixed. Sentence added to last paragraph to make argument clearer.
- (posted Oct 18). Slide 96, deck 3 fixed. x changed to s as dummy variable of integration and variable of resulting indefinite interval (before plug-in). Required to distinguish this variable from the free variable x that appears on both sides of the equation (see slide 104, deck 3 for fuller explanation).
- (posted Oct 1). Slide 108, deck 2 fixed. X0 inserted in sentence before second displayed equation.
-
(posted Oct 1). Slide 83, deck 2 fixed. Wrongly,
said a one-to-one function
from { 1, …, n } to itself is a permutation.
Now says an invertible function
from { 1, …, n } to itself is a permutation.
Also defines
invertible
instead of definingone-to-one
. - (posted Sep 12). Slide 42, deck 1 fixed. The first displayed equation had x ∈ S where it should have had x ∈ A. Now fixed.
