There will be occasions when we want to entire population data into R. I have created a population of size 500 where associated with each unit there is the y value (the characteristic of interest) and a value for the auxiliary variable x. The population is contained in the file pop1.txt. I will enter its URL address in the box below labeled Enter a Dataset URL. Rweb will find it when you hit the submit button and will put the population into its working directory under the label X. You then can work with it like any R object.
There are other populations which are in a password protected directory and which you will need to access during the semester. I will tell you how to reach them in class.
