    Introduction to Statistical Analysis

    Spring 2002


    This is our basic introductory course in statistical ideas and methods for undergraduate students. Course topics include descriptive statistics, elementary probability, confidence intervals for means and proportions, tests for means and proportions, simple and multiple linear regression, analysis of variance, and chisquare tests. Examples and exercises are taken from a broad range of subject areas.

    Many course materials are available in the "Portable Document Format" (PDF), which can be viewed and printed by using Acrobat Reader software. Versions of Acrobat Reader for most computing platforms may obtained for free from Adobe Inc.
