Statistical Consulting

There is no single prescribed text for this course. We will refer to a collection of relevant journal papers kept in the Statistics Library for topics covered.

The course covers a range of topics related to statistical practice in general and consulting in particular. Particular topics include:
- the roles of statisticians
- consulting skills and interpersonal relationships
- problem-solving
- ethics in research and professional practice
- maintaining and enhancing skills

The course can only be taken on an S/N basis. There will be two writing assignments during the semester. The S grade will be awarded for satisfactory completion of these assignments and attendance at and participation in class meetings
