- (posted Oct 3). The originally posted solution to homework problem 3-2, parts (c) and (d) was wrong. The problem asked for E(Y ⁄ X) and E(Y) ⁄ E(X) and the originally posted solutions calculated E(X ⁄ Y) and E(X) ⁄ E(Y) instead. Now fixed.
- (posted Sep 30). The formula p = x ⁄ N on Slide 99, deck 2 was incorrect. It should have been p = r ⁄ N and has been fixed. (The formulas for the mean and variance of the hypergeometric distribution on the brand name distributions handout were always correct and did not need to be changed).
-
(posted Sep 30). The words
and for exchangeable
on Slide 95, deck 2 were incorrect and have been deleted (the second variance formula on this slide is only for sampling without replacement, not for general exchangeable). -
(posted Sep 15). Homework problem 2-1 changed. The last sentence should
say
for any real-valued function h on T
(not S as it originally said.) - (posted Sep 15). Slide 86, deck 1 revised (not wrong before, but hopefully clearer now).
-
(posted Sep 16). Slide 93, deck 1 fixed. First line of the displayed equation
is
E(Y) = ∑y ∈ T y fy(y)(one y was missing on the right-hand side before).
-
(posted Sep 16). Homework problem 2-2 now starts
Suppose we have the uniform distribution on S = {−2, −1, 0, 1, 2}.
Calling that fX was confusing and has been dropped.
