Download MacAnova Source Archives

The latest version of MacAnova source is 5.05, release 1, dated Aug 29 2005.

Source is provided as a gzipped tar file: macanova5.05.1.tar.gz, with is about 8.5 MB. The archive contains all source files for all versions MacAnova (including some obsolete ones), all auxiliary files, all documentation, and all html help.

File Readme.src.txt describes this source distribution and gives some compiling and porting guidance.

MacAnova makes use of some other libaries. All windowed versions of MacAnova use the wxWidgets library. Currently we use version 2.6 of wxWidgets. You will need to obtain and compile wxWidgets before compiling a windowed version of MacAnova. (And we mean before compiling, not before linking.)

Command line versions of MacAnova use the GNU readline library, version 2. You may obtain the source for readline here: readline-2.0.tar.gz.

MacAnova contains code from several libraries and other published and unpublished sources. MacAnova command

  Cmd> help(copyright)

lists these contributions.

The Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows versions of MacAnova are all compiled with some form of GNU gcc and/or g++. On Linux and Mac OS X, we use the standard developer tools. On Windows, we use the GNU tools under the CygWin platform. On DOS, we use the DJGPP version of the gcc suite.
