Career and Job Opportunities in Statistics

If you are close to graduating you should check out the Career and Community Learning Center (CCLC) and the Career Center for Science and Engineering (CCSE). There you will find announcements of events such as the Graduate and Professional School Day and the On Campus Recruiting (OCR) Fair as well as other links to employment opportunities and information on resume writing and interviewing workshops.

Companies that are specifically trying to fill positions in statistics include 3M, Cargill, Pepsi, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Symantec and Wolseley's North American Division. The first deadline for applying to companies coming to campus in early October is around mid September. Missing this deadline and others will result in missing many great interviewing opportunities.

You should also plan on uploading your resume to GoldPass. Other links in this page will direct you to organizations where there is information about working in statistics as well as to their pages with open job postings.
