Abstract
Regular fractional factorial 2 k-p
Resolution V designs may require
considerably more runs than are necessary to estimate the parameters of
interest. In this paper, we investigate an approach to build the design
matrix of required number runs by combining randomly generated regular
fractions. Results indicate that the model matrix formed this way is
not always resolution V due to randomness. Results also indicate the
singularity can be described as a loop in the alias structure of the
two designs. A method is implemented to obliterate this loop and obtain
the resolution V design. Also an algorithm is developed to apply this
process in general case scenario.
