Abstract
In this talk we will briefly review connections between maximum likelihood
clustering and robust estimation and then proceed to look at some of the
issues associated with robust clustering. All of the estimators and pseudo
estimators that we will consider result in hard optimization problems. We
will examine some algorithms for these problems and report on
computational experiments using examples and simulations.
